2012 JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM

Stamford Golf Club Junior Golf, Inc. is proud to announce the 2012 Junior Golf Program. It is a very comprehensive program that will maximize the learning experience yet keep the game simple and fun! The club is eager to introduce the game to young people. It is a game that lasts a lifetime and Juniors are the future of the game!

The package being offered is scheduled for weekly clinics and golf starting Jun 26th. The program will run once per week, on Tuesdays for five weeks. On the fifth week there will be championships at all levels for both boys and girls. Aug 4th (Sat) will be the annual Parent/Junior Tournament. On Aug 5th we will have the final banquet at Mine Kill State Park. That will be a festive day with prizes for the season and lots of food.

Thanks to the Jack Nicklaus Golf Equip Co. the program has over 70 sets of clubs of various lengths for the use. They must be returned at the end of the season.

The starting age is 5 going thru 17 for both boys and girls. Each group will play a certain number of holes each week depending on ability. There are built in incentives to advance within the program. For example, we will want 3 Holers to move up to 6 Holers and 6 Holers to move up to 9 Holers. Written exams will be a part of moving up, as well as one’s ability to strike the ball, and all must learn the proper etiquette of the game. Included in the program is an incentive for parents to play golf with their children (extra points are awarded). Point winners will receive awards at the above mentioned banquet.

The committee ranges from 10 – 13 people. We had 50 Juniors in the program in 2004. There were 70 in 2005 - 2011. Again, the program will be limited to 70 Juniors plus The Elite 8. The program FEE is $20.00.

Each Junior will be required to attend a minimum of 4 clinic days!!!!!

We have one major sponsor in 2012 that is repeating; Chimera Securities. The president of Chimera is Dan Adams a friend of Junior Golf.
