18 Hole Championship Golf Course
A stop at the clubhouse for a cocktail, sandwich, or dinner provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy the magnificent view from the porch while watching players approach the amphitheater 18th green directly below. The clubhouse has a well equipped pro shop, locker rooms, showers and bag storage. There is a driving range and practice putting green to help hone your game and private lessons are available by appointment.
The
Stamford Golf Club was organized and founded in July 1897, the links
being laid out in the Granthurst Park surrounding the Rexmere Hotel. The
clubhouse (pictured left) was built in 1917 and destroyed by fire in
1939.
The northern Catskill Mountains provide the setting with historic Mt. Utsayantha dominating the surrounding heights. The views are sweeping and spectacular as the beauty of the countryside unfolds in all its glory with each season. The course is appealing to both experts and high handicappers alike. Rolling terrain and undulating greens add to the challenge that is uniquely Stamford. There is usually no waiting time to tee off, even on weekends and holidays. Completing a round in 3 1/2 to 4 hours is the norm at Stamford.

2009 Junior Golf Update
According to Gordie Faulkner the Junior Golf Program had maxed out before the May 10th deadline. Even taking away the 8 advanced players from the 9 hole division, for special instruction, it was filled before the deadline. So! Kelly's Pub At SGC
Dear SGC Members and Friends,
I'm looking forward to the upcoming season as your host in the clubhouse. I've spent the winter months jumping through the various hoops in order to set up for business, crossing the T's, dotting the I's, and keeping the fingers crossed for the approval of the Liquor Authority.
